Beginning in the fall of 2019, M&D Mechanical began construction on two new missile assembly, integration, and testing facilities for an Aerospace and Defense Company in North Alabama. Local media outlets reported these projects are a part of the United States Army hypersonic weapons program. The specialized structures are roughly 30,000 square feet each and highlight all M&D’s plumbing and mechanical capabilities. The buildings are outfitted with custom HVAC units with specific automated control systems and unique humidification capabilities, specialized filtered compressed air equipment, and an integrated reverse osmosis system. The first facility is on schedule to be completed in early April 2020, with the second following behind with an anticipated completion date of July 2020.
