M&D Mechanical was awarded the plumbing and HVAC mechanical installation for the Aircraft Test Support Facility at Arnold Air Force Base in Tullahoma, TN. The cost range for the entire project was estimated to be between $10,000,000 - $20,000,000. The general contractor is Southeast Cherokee Construction, Inc. out of Montgomery, AL. The work includes the construction of a 39,271 square feet Test Hanger including a high bay. In the hanger bay area M&D will install underground door track drain piping connecting to the storm drain line outside of the building. Also install an air compressor in the mechanical room which provides compressed air drops throughout the hanger area. The hanger bay area will also include ventilation fans, high volume low speed fans and infrared heaters. The hanger will also include an administrative/workshops area, which contains under/above ground plumbing supplying emergency shower and eyewash stations and bathroom/locker areas with showers. This area is also air conditioned with a 4 ton unit along with two ductless split units to serve the electrical and communication rooms.
