NASA Building 4220

Building 4220 is a five-story office building consisting of 150,000 square feet. The HVAC system consists of (5) AHU’s with chilled water cooling coils, (2) Energy Recovery Units, Exhaust and Relief Fans, and variable air volume units with electric re-heat. All the major HVAC equipment is located in a large penthouse mechanical room. Chilled water is being delivered to the building utilizing the underground distribution piping fed from Marshall Space Flight Center’s central plant, and then pumped through the building with (5) variable flow chilled water pumps.
