About Our Human Resource Generalist, Charlene Ross Barney
MD Mechanical’s Human Resource Generalist, Charlene Ross Barney, joined the team in August of 2008. She brought a wealth of experience and natural talent to the position. Her role includes first and foremost recruitment efforts to find skilled craftsmen and to fill other company needs. She also deals with employee relations, the apprenticeship program, and benefits administration. Charlene ensures that company maintains its compliance with local, state, and federal employment laws and regulations.
During her tenure as the HR Generalist, she has recommended new approaches to policies and procedures in an effort to improve efficiency in the department and services offered. These recommendations included implementation of a new application process and on-boarding procedure for new hires in 2017.
Charlene is passionate about serving the community. She has been a board member of Morgan County’s Habitat for Humanity for four years. She’s a member of the Kiwanis Decatur Club and serves as the Volunteer Leader over youth services. Charlene continues to stay connected to current local, state, and federal changes effecting Human Resources as a member of the Society of Human Resource Management (SHRM) and as the 2017 Chair of the Decatur Personnel Officer’s Association.
